Welcome to the space! A space where we’ll share our experience while working on (one of) our biggest project to date. This is a collaboration between Cheryl Lofreda (dancer/choreographer) from Concept of Movement, Neil Hales (electronic musician) better known as Acidulant, and Toni Gialanze (interactive artist/light designer) from Late Interactive & Digital Nature.
This project was born from the thirst of an oh-so-long-awaited collaboration between two life-long friends and a cousin, who happens to be one of the best dancers on the island of Malta and a perfect fit, for a project that has been brewing for a years.
This is an intensive research project studying real-time interactions between body movements, 3d spatial sound and visuals. Our main objective is to find methods to give dancers the power to control what is essential for them to perform; music! We will give the dancer the ability to generate and manipulate spatial sounds (sound in 3d) with movements and blurring the line between who’s controlling what. Through an infinite amount of feedback loops on this same concept, we’ll also be complimenting music and dance with interactive visuals and lighting.
On the 30th of June we’ll be showcasing our findings at the BMX Warehouse in Pembroke. If you’re interested in attending please contact us at this space.
